Chicago is the Windy City. Well, it's not actually America's windiest city. The Lakeside town earned the nickname in the late 1800s when local politicians were known to blow hot air. Chicago is a town drenched in history with some of the best food in all of the country. Let New York get all the attention, and Los Angeles can keep all of the glamour. Your next travel adventure should focus on America's Second City.
Wrigley Field
This is the second oldest professional ballpark in the country. Built in 1914, the Friendly Confines features hand-laid brick, ivy walls, and authentic outfield bleachers. The still-operating analog scoreboard in centerfield is older than the state of California. Some of the greatest baseball players in history have called Wrigley Field their home. It's changed quite a bit over the years, but it still one of the most quintessential American experiences out there.

Cloud Gate
This Lakeside sculpture offers up one of the best selfie opportunities in the world. A massive bean-like reflective mirror sits near the south end of the Magnificent Mile. The mirror finish gives off distorted reflections that make for a great picture. You'll find crowds of people at this historic landmark as they enjoy the oddity before heading up the Magnificent Mile.
Magnificent Mile
Head north from the Cloud Gate to enjoy a stroll up the Magnificent Mile. This stretch of the city features wide streets, luxury hotels, boutique shops, high-end shopping, and some of the best restaurants in the Midwest. And there are plenty of historic landmarks along the way. Marvel at the architecture of the Wrigley Skyscraper, the Tribune Tower, the historic Water Tower, and the massively tall John Hancock building.

Museum of Science and Industry
This beautiful building sits just south of the city near Promontory Point. The stately architecture is as nearly as beautiful as its well-kept grounds. You'll find plenty of fascinating exhibits behind its stone façade. Explore submarine replicas, see the devastation a tornado can wreak, enter a coal mine replica, meet Pixar characters, and learn all about modern science. It's a destination unto itself.
